Russia's FESCO shortens transit time from Shanghai to Vladivostok by 2 days

MAJOR Russian transportation and logistics company, FESCO Transportation Group, has reduced the transit time between the Far Eastern ports and the Chinese ports due to improvements in FESCO China Direct Line (FCDL) service.

The port of Busan is excluded from the rotation of the FCDL-Main, which allows FESCO to decrease transit time between the port of Shanghai and Vladivostok to three days from five days. The call to the Busan port remains available on the FCDL-North, northern branch of the service, the company said in a statement.

Following the FCDL-Main restructuring, the FCDL-North capacity is increased by deploying a third container vessel, Hyundai Advance. The vessel complements the Saxonia and Letavia and is operated in cooperation with Hyundai Merchant Marine.

The additional capacity allows FESCO to provide the stable service on a weekly basis as well as to provide the fixed windows in all ports of call on the Vladivostok-Vostochny-Busan-Qingdao-Shanghai-Ningbo-Pusan-Vladivostok route.

The changes came into effective from March 31, 2017, the company said.
